Every day, early morning or late afternoon, I have the privilege to watch the sweet-light of the sun as it caresses the many hundred years old oak trees out back of my home. Sitting out there with a hot cup of coffee in morning, or a glass of wine in the afternoon that is where I receive my inspiration to do the work that I do – painting the sweet-light that transforms the landscape, shines golden in the trees, warms the soul, and inspires thoughts of my next works to be.
So my intention here is to share some of those thoughts that flow through my head as I think about art, about painting, and all those things that keep us going, growing, and hopefully maturing as artists and as people!
I will try my best to be regular, but my best might be planned spontaneity or just periodical regularity. Whatever it is, I will work hard not to waste your time, or bore you to death. Anyway, that’s the idea, that’s the “plan,” and we will just have to see how this turns out. After all, I’m a 4, so what do you expect? And as an artist friend of mine says, “It’s got to be wrong before it can be right!” I hope that you will join me and maybe even add to the conversation from time to time! ~DBE
